History

It all started when the country of Japan decided to bomb the us naval base Pearl Harbor. December 7, 1941is now known as "a day which will live in infamy."- Roosevelt. The reason why the Japanese did the surprise attack on our Hawaiian territory is because the United states decided to place an embargo on japanese exports on oil. By doing this, it made the japanese navy and military forces weak.

We believe that President Truman's decision to drop the atomic bomb on Japan was not justified because there are other ways to end a war, they killed innocent citizens, and ruined a lot of Japanese buildings and homes. There are other proficient ways in ending a war like signing a treaty. This could of helped because war is not always the answer and this decision could have been avoided with a very important document. Within the first two to four months of the bombings, it killed 90,000–166,000 people in Hiroshima and 60,000–80,000 in Nagasaki. America wanted to save thousands of american lives but they were not thinking of all the japanese lives that were lost. These people died from explosions, flash or fire burns, and falling debris. More than 50 cities were destroyed and left 5 million homeless.
